Andy Lewis joined the TMW Center in 2020.
As Manager of Operations & Staff/Student Development, he manages the systems, spaces and tools that help the TMW Center’s people work effectively. He also leads the recruitment, hiring and professional development of student workers and staff members.
Prior to the TMW Center, he worked in public education in New Orleans. He served as COO of an independent charter school and as an assistant principal at a networked charter school. He began his career as a middle- and high-school English teacher, where he was named 2009 Teacher of the Year. He also served four years on Teach For America’s summer institute operations teams in Los Angeles, Phoenix and Atlanta.
He lives in Chicago and his favorite book from early childhood is Big Joe’s Trailer Truck by Joe Mathieu.
