Dr. Dana Suskind is Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago, Director of the Pediatric Cochlear Implant Program, and Founder and Director of Thirty Million Words®. A recognized thought leader on the national stage, Dana has dedicated her research and clinical life to optimizing foundational brain development and preventing early cognitive disparities and their lifelong impact. In 2013, Dana and her team led the first-ever Bridging the Thirty Million Word Gap convening at the request of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. In 2015, her book Thirty Million Words: Building a Child’s Brain was published by Dutton.

John List of the University of Chicago is the founder and co-director of TMW Center for Early Learning and Public Health.

FOUNDER AND CO-DIRECTOR

Dr. John List is Chairman and Kenneth C. Griffin Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, and Founder of the Chicago Heights Early Childhood Center and the Science of Philanthropy Initiative. John has pioneered work using field experiments in which he developed scientific methods for testing economic theory directly in the marketplace. He received the Kenneth Galbraith Award in 2010 and 2008 Arrow Prize for Senior Economists for his research on Behavioral Economics in the field.
