Katie Dealy

Chief Operating Officer

Katie Dealy joined TMW as chief operating officer in January 2017. In addition to spearheading strategic planning for the new Center, she also oversees fundraising, partnership building, staff management, and day-to-day operations. Dealy has extensive experience spanning public policy, early childhood education, and nonprofit program leadership.

Prior to joining TMW, she worked for the national offices of Teach For America from 2010 to 2016 in increasingly advanced roles, most recently serving as chief of staff to the CEO from 2013 to 2016. While at Teach For America, Dealy oversaw the organization’s efforts to grow the pipeline of TFA alumni who pursued careers in policy, advocacy, and organizing. She created the Capitol Hill Fellows Program, a year-long bipartisan fellowship program on Capitol Hill. Prior to TFA, Dealy worked in early childhood policy for the city of Chicago, Start Early, and at a private family foundation.

Dealy earned her BA in Government from Cornell University and her MA from Columbia University. A proud Pittsburgh native, Katie lives in Evanston with her husband and three young sons. She serves as President of the board of Evanston Scholars, on the board of Chicago Jewish Day School, and as an active volunteer with public service efforts at Cornell University. When not at work, Katie most enjoys spending time with her kids, hiking, reading about politics, practicing pilates, watching The West Wing or EPL games. Her favorite children’s book of all time is The Snowy Day.
