Sara Bryk joined the TMW Center in 2024. As a Research Coordinator, she helps develop and manage data collection and analysis efforts for the Scale of Parent/Provider Expectations And Knowledge Computer Adaptive Test (SPEAK CAT). She also works with developers and product designers to improve the user experience and to develop score reports and data visualizations.
Prior to the TMW Center, Bryk graduated from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and a concentration in Maternal, Child, and Family Health. She also received a Certificate in Improvement and Implementation Science and was awarded the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship for Portuguese and Latin American studies. While at UNC, Bryk served as a graduate research assistant at the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for Research Evidence for Sexual and Reproductive Health, and as a project manager on the Kindergarten Readiness Learning Collaborative at North Carolina Integrated Care for Kids (NC InCK). Prior to graduate school, Bryk spent three years as a research analyst at Mathematica, where she provided mixed-methods research and project management support for quasi-experimental evaluations of international development interventions. She also spent a year as a Fulbright Teaching Fellow in Colombia. Bryk holds a B.A. in human biology and sociology from Scripps College.
Bryk lives in Chicago and her favorite book from early childhood is The BFG.
