TMW Center Co-Director John List to Lead UChicago’s Becker Friedman Institute for Economics

We are pleased to announce that TMW Center Co-Director John List has been appointed as the next director of the University of Chicago’s Becker Friedman Institute for Economics, the esteemed institution that unites economists from across UChicago to drive innovative research, inspire new ideas, and create meaningful impact worldwide. John will bring to the role his unparalleled expertise in field experimentation and behavioral economics, as well as his commitment to advancing scalable solutions to society’s most pressing challenges. Fortunately for us at the TMW Center and in the early childhood field, John will continue in his role as TMW Center Co-Director and partner to Dr. Dana Suskind. We are thrilled that John will have the opportunity to inspire leaders across our institution and around the world to produce bold ideas, propose inventive policies, and ultimately, improve lives.

Seeking Head Start & Early Head Start Partners for a Pilot Project

The TMW Center is preparing to launch Let’s Talk with Luet, a new evidence-based and technology-driven program designed to help parents and caregivers boost their children’s brain development at home AND to help Head Start centers meet their family engagement goals. We are seeking Head Start and Early Head Start centers in the Chicagoland area to participate in the program pilot. Let’s Talk with Luet is designed to be easily integrated into centers’ existing operations to ensure that participation is convenient for parents, educators, and center staff.
