TMW Center Newsletter December 2023
Happy Holidays from the TMW Center
As we approach the festive holiday season, we find ourselves reflecting on another remarkable year. We are pleased to share that in 2023, the TMW Center worked with partners to implement our 3Ts-Newborn, Well Baby, Let’s Talk, Let’s Talk Dads, and Early Childhood Educator interventions in communities across the country. We shared free 3Ts resources with more than 450 family-serving organizations and more than 6,000 parents and caregivers. We made enormous strides in the development of our technology-based, scalable measurement tools. And we continued to conduct and publish rigorous research and analysis.
These successes stand as a testament to the dedication and hard work of each member of our incredible—and growing!—team. But they also would not have been possible without our cherished collaborators across the country and around the world. We are grateful for each and every one of our partners and supporters, and for every individual working to ensure more children have the strongest possible start in life.
Like all years, 2023 was not without challenges. Surely 2024 holds them in store, as well. Nevertheless, we anticipate the coming year with hope and optimism. We look forward to sharing our successes, and celebrating yours as well.
Happy holidays!
Updated 3Ts-Early Childhood Educator course now available
Our popular online course for early childhood educators has been revised and refreshed! Of course, the 3Ts—Tune In, Talk More, and Take Turns—remain at the heart of the program. The 3Ts have proven time and again to be a simple, yet powerful teaching tool to help anyone make the most of their talk and interaction with children.
The 3Ts-Early Childhood Educator Course is a self-paced, online program that teaches educators how to use 3Ts strategies with groups of children, especially ages 0-3. All types of educators and caregivers are invited to enroll for free at the3ts.org.
What We’re Reading
In his latest installment of “Elliot’s Provocations,” Elliot Haspel identifies five trends to look for in early childhood education next year. From rising fees and center closures to climate change challenges and national elections, he unpacks the forces that are sure to shape early learning in 2024. Elliot is the best in the business, but if he had asked for our forecast, we would have included artificial intelligence as well!
