Conferences and Convenings

In 2013, Dr. Dana Suskind and her team were invited to Washington, DC, to host a special White House convening dedicated to closing the “word gap” and eradicating early cognitive disparities. Since then, the TMW Center has hosted several impactful conferences and convenings. From an economics conference dedicated to exploring how to best leverage the healthcare systems to impact educational disparities, to a year-long, interdisciplinary examination of the science of scaling, we have used our convening power to bring together researchers, practitioners, and others to explore pressing issues and to work toward consensus.

The TMW Center and Governance Studies at Brookings co-hosted a discussion among experts to help unpack scalability in policymaking.

The TMW Center was selected to lead the first-ever Kenneth C. Griffin Applied Economics Incubator, a hub for generating new initiatives and ideas that drive broad-based thought and policy change.
